Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2026  ·  Publisher: Vision Technologies and Robotics

Short version: VisionScan collects no personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Overview

VisionScan is a document scanning application that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.

Data we collect

We collect no personal data.

VisionScan does not:

All scanned files, profiles, and settings remain on your device under your full control.

Data stored locally

VisionScan saves the following only on your own device:

DataPurposeLocation
Scan profilesRemember your scanner settings%AppData%\VisionScan
Application settingsPreferences (language, save path, etc.)%AppData%\VisionScan
Scanned output filesSaved where you chooseYour chosen folder

You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app data folder.

Third-party services

VisionScan does not integrate with or transmit data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud storage providers.

Scanner hardware

VisionScan communicates with your locally connected scanner via Windows WIA, TWAIN, or ESCL/WSD drivers. This communication is entirely local to your device and network. No scan data leaves your machine through VisionScan.

Update checks

VisionScan periodically checks the GitHub Releases API to see whether a newer version is available. This request includes only your version number and operating system — no personal data, no document content, and no account identifiers. You can disable update checks in application settings.

Children's privacy

VisionScan does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to disclose under COPPA or equivalent regulations.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add features that involve data collection, we will update this policy and notify users through the Microsoft Store and GitHub release notes before the change takes effect.
